Review: VOX MORTIS - Avignam Jagat Samagram

VOX MORTIS - Avignam Jagat Samagram (CD 2021)
This is a stern warning for dog meat eaters and traders! Indonesia’s Vox Mortis is here to educate you about animal welfare. Besides, the band also spreading awareness about preservation of the environment. Following up to the two previous singles, Vox Mortis unleashed their debut full-length CD entitled “Avignam Jagat Samagram” released on 3 March 2021 through fellow label, Cerberus Productions. The album consists of 13 tracks, including an instrumental and a tribute track to Morbid Angel. The whole work is brilliant, no doubt. Intensely rapid and caustic riffages, genius music arrangement, beast-alike vocals, thunderous blast beats and of all, outstanding sound production. Everything sounds heavy, brutal and remarkable. If you ask me about favourite tracks, I have no choices, I love them all, the entire album. This is what we call - a masterpiece!

Review: TERATOS - Terror Insano

TERATOS - Terror Insano (EP 2018)
Essentials of brutality and morbidity are well-incorporated in this Death Metal creation of Teratos. The EP “Terror Insano” contains 4 tracks; Sombra Siniestra (intro), La Noche de la Muerte, Sepultura por Error, and Terror Insano - about 16:13 minutes of playing time. Hailing from Lima - Peru, the band delivers greatly executed both straight forward and technical guitar riffings, terrific grinding drummings, monstrous vocals and enormously blend of South American exotic and old-school sound presentation. Teratos absolutely defines 90’s Brutal Death musicstyle at its finest way and for those who hugely digged bands such as Monstrosity, Cannibal Corpse, Autopsy and Dying Fetus will definitely appreciate the excellent works of this band. Cassette-Tape edition released by Misanthropic Blood Records (Bolivia).

Review: SYSTEM COLLAPSE - The Pandemic Sessions

SYSTEM COLLAPSE - The Pandemic Sessions
Damn! This is fuckin’ good d-beat crust act out of Germany! Consisting of UNRN (vocals/bass), Defiler (guitars) and with the help of a session drummer, System Collapse released their second material, “The Pandemic Sessions” on December 31, 2020. It contains 11 tracks, 15:04 minutes of fast, brutal and loud crust metal/hardcore musick! The songwritings are exceptional, reinforced by a variety of ideas with great blend of dark/crusty riffs and violent/grinding elements. Sound productions are noisy, filthy and heavily ear-splitting! I think stuff and music like this will certainly captivate the listeners of both extreme metal and hardcore punk enthusiasts. Worth-checking out!

Review: SUBTLE DEATH COMPILADOS - Cuba Subterranea Vol.1

SUBTLE DEATH COMPILADOS: Cuba Subterranea Vol.1
This compilation comes together with Subtle Death Magazine issue #80 (published in February 2021). This is truly a good attempt by the editor, Omar Vega to assemble 15 worth-checking-out bands in this compilation, featuring acts such as ANTAGON, ALPHA SEED, PRIMACY, DYING FOREST, METASTASYS, BLINDER, LEY URBANA, INFECTOR, FROM THE ABYSS, NERGAL, UNDER MIDGARD, MEPHISTO, HIPNOSIS, FROM THE GRAVES and SWITCH. The compilation runs more than a hour and what’s more interesting, bands are chosen from different metal style, varied subgenres and diverse sound. Review: SEIZURE - Convulsive Perseverance

SEIZURE - Convulsive Perseverance
Neck-breaking thrash assaults with no compromise! Intensified with energy and tightness, Seizure has given everything all-out through their debut full-length entitled “Convulsive Perseverance”. The album consists of 10 tracks that crammed with tremendously forceful riffages, fast-paced melodies, aggressively speed drummings and raging vocal shout-outs! Seizure not only focuses on the old-school Thrash Metal nuances, they also intelligently inject other elements of metal/punk subgenres to make their music sound really classic! What you get from “Convulsive Perseverance” is a perfect blend of Sepultura and Sodom, an ideal mixture of Death and Motörhead. You will not be disappointed, so do not hesitate to check out this quartet from Bulacan, Philippines.

Review: BLOODY SADISM - Eloquent Atrocity

BLOODY SADISM - Eloquent Atrocity
Bloody Sadism from Tehran, Iran is an awe-inspiring band. This is a one-man act by a talented musician named Pooyan Ahmadi which he found to be very educated and highly skilled. Bloody Sadism has released its debut full-length CD through a Spanish label, Base Record Production. Titled as “Eloquent Atrocity”, the album contains 10 imposing tracks including intro and outro. Each song is well-composed, extremely solid and heavy, perfect blend of fast and mid-paced riffs without neglecting the groovy and emotional essences. This solo project is Brutal Death-Grind musically, massively dominated with technical and slamming elements. The major theme is into gore and psychopathy stuff, in which “Eloquent Atrocity” is a bit conceptual album lyrically. It is a story about a serial killer. Produced with excellent sound quality, this album is something I highly recommend for you to grab, especially those of you who adore bands like Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel. Amazing on the whole!

Review: BEGRAVEMENT - Conjuring The Necromancer

BEGRAVEMENT - Conjuring The Necromancer
Undoubtedly a promising young band from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Salute and respect for all the talents and capabilities they have. Begravement consisting of Ezra Blumenfeld (guitars, lead vocals, programming), Owen Hiber (guitars, drums) and Matt Schrampfer (bass, backing vocals, choirs) have completed a pretty good piece of work through their first EP, entitled “Conjuring The Necromancer”. The band is quite brave and visionary. They may have experimented a bit through a total of 6 songs included in the EP, but at the same time showed their ability to integrate all the metal extremities; death, black, doom and thrash metal at the right place, coupled with progressive and technical elements that are quite thick and effective. Everything sounds mind blowing! “Conjuring The Necromancer” is just a mesmerizing start and I’m sure something far more amazing they will produce in the future. For now, this is an impressive debut from a freshly new band that was born with quality and high potential.
